Meet Ben!
A firefighter from Colorado who spends his free time fishing or working on projects related to it. His love for engines started with a junkyard VW Bug, and that quickly turned into a passion for getting outboard motors back to life. Ben enjoys taking old, beaten-up motors and making them run like new—turning what most would call junk into something solid and ready for the water.

Recent Work
30 HP 1992 Evinrude
Starting with a total disassembly, and assessment. Key components such as pistons, rings, seals, and gaskets were replaced. The fuel system, including the carburetor and fuel lines were rebuilt, and the ignition system was inspected and refreshed. Once reassembled, the engine was carefully tuned, tank-tested, and adjusted to ensure smooth, reliable operation.
1994 25 HP Motor Evinrude
Often we will utilize parts and pieces from irrecoverable engines. This is one of those engines where we were able to replace the stator and charge coil of another customers engine and obtain a new rectifier and starter bracket for another engine. Old parts are always a last resort but sometimes you have to make due with limited and obsolete resources.
1992 Envirude 25HP Cowling
Inspection and cleaning of the cowling, old paint and imperfections sanded down. Priming of the surface before applying coats of marine-grade paint for a smooth, durable finish. Engine inspection for compression, and the fuel system and electrical components were checked. The lower unit and gear mechanism were lubricated for smooth operation. Finally, the fuel lines and water intake tubes were replaced to ensure proper function.
